Day 87, Tuesday, January 13, 2026 - La Paz County Park, Parker, AZ, Day 45 - 0 Miles, 3,449.7 Miles for the Trip
Cooler overnight with temperatures down to 43°F, & 51°F for my morning walk. Another clear morning sky with a few light clouds throughout the day. The high was 76°F.
Another do nothing day. I spent it reading both on the computer & on my Kindle. I finished Nick Russell's Big Lake Parolee, and started Ann Pratchett's State of Wonder. It was nice enough that I spent the day sitting outside hopping back & forth between the sun & shade.
I switched back to Verizon for awhile for my internet connection. For some reason my Mini decided to use 17GB today. I did do an iPhone update, but it sure wasn't anywhere near that size. Since I may need to use this month's allocation for the first couple of days at Quartzsite and I haven't used any Verizon this month it probably makes sense. While I don't expect to get 200 - 300 Mbps out of Verizon like I've been getting with the Mini, when I was using it it was fast enough. I only switched because I ran out of my 50GB allotment towards the end of December. Between the two I should be fine. Worst case, Starlink sells 1GB for $1.00 once you go over your 50GB allotment.
I did decide it was time for some shrimp tacos & headed to the floating Roadrunner Bar & Grill. They have an excellent bartender. I've only been there 3 times, the last over 2 weeks ago & she remembered my name and my last order and that it was to go. I'm impressed.
Dinner was shrimp tacos.
Until Next Time -
