I walked to the closest gas station on main street, about .8 miles, for coffee this morning. By the time I got back to the trailer it was cool enough to drink. Bring your own mug & it is only $.65 for a 20 oz fill up! I read the Syracuse Post Standard on my iPad, read some fiberglass trailer blogs, and, after lunch, sat outside. A quiet day spent reading, chatting with my neighbor, and doing nothing. It warmed up nicely; last night was another cool one with clear skies. This afternoon there is a bit of haze.
I'm keeping my promise made earlier that once I settled into the LTVA camping area, this journal would get pretty boring.
Dinner was the rest of the left over stew - always better the second day!

| My First Attempt at Making Necklaces |
The cloud cover kept it reasonably warm overnight, just down to the upper 40's. Because I didn't run the furnace as long as usual, it only took until around 11:00AM to recharge the batteries, even with hazy sun. Now, at 1:45, it is completely cloud covered with no visible sun, but I'm still getting 3 amps from the solar panels.
I went into town to buy wrapping paper, gift boxes, a US Post Office mailing box, and clear nail polish. Managed to find it all between the Dollar Store & Quiet Times. The nail polish is to seal the knots in the necklaces I made for the granddaughters. An interesting project. I can see how one can become addicted to making jewelry; it is fun, and while a bit repetitive, something you can do while listening to the radio. Anyway, today's photo is my first attempt.
It will be interesting to see if the girls can keep from breaking them. I used a stretchy cord to string them, but that makes tying the knots at the clasps difficult. There is probably an "official" way to do it, but a couple of half hitches & a blob of nail polish is my solution.
Even though it is completely overcast, it is warm enough to sit outside so that is where I'm headed.
Dinner was a quick trip to Sweet Darlene's for their all you can eat Friday Fish Fry. Very good beer batter Cod, excellent coleslaw & fries, all for $9.95. Hard to beat!

I decided it was time for a real dinner, so I went to the General Store, one of the two grocery stores in Quartzsite, and one that has a real butcher. Picked up a 1/2 pound of stew beef & started a stew for dinner. I didn't have all of my usual ingredients or spices, so it will probably be a bit different than a home made stew, but hey, I'm in Quartzsite! It is finally warming up during the day - it hit 69°F this afternoon, and is still 65°F at 4:30. I sat out & read while making the stew.

La Posa West LTVA, Quartzsite, AZ, Day 16
Wednesday, December 2, 2015, La Posa West LTVA, Quartzsite, AZ, Day 16, 0 Miles, 3,585.9 Miles for the Trip
I ran out of one tank of propane this morning. With the cooler temperatures, even with the furnace set at 60°F, it runs enough that the 20 lb tank that lasts most of a month just feeding the refrigerator only lasts a week feeding both.
Glenda pulled in this morning & set up her Casita next door. We are a little compound of little trailers - Vincent in his Casita, Glenda in her Casita & me in my Escape. There is a guy in a Scamp much further west of us; the fiberglass eggs are taking over!
I went to Gem World for a few more things. I now have the materials for making a couple of necklaces for my grandkids, however it looks to be an interesting "new hobby". My fingers are not as dexterous as they used to be; neither is my close vision, but it should be fun.
I repaired a bad solar extension cable, and made up a set of battery clips so I can use the panel in the way it was intended - using its solar controller rather than directly connection the panel output to my in trailer controller. After I topped off my batteries, I lent the panel to Glenda while her panels are being repaired.
Other than paying some bills, that was about it for the day. Dinner was spaghetti & meatballs.

Today was dump day. For those that don't have an RV toilet, they drain into a tank that eventually gets full. If you are in a site with full hookups, you just go outside & pull the dump handle & the tank drains. Here in the LTVAs, there is a dump station located in La Posa South, about a 2 mile drive from my site. So, I hooked up the trailer for the first time in two weeks & headed out. Everything went OK, and when I came back to the camping area I set up the trailer a couple of hundred feet west of my previous location. A bit more open & a little further from the barking dogs.
I went to Blythe to have an eye exam, and unfortunately, my pressure is still too high. I have new drops & will go back in two weeks to see if they helped. He also checked my eyesight, and new glasses will provide a small amount of improvement. I'll have to think about it since I don't have glasses coverage with my insurance.
That was pretty much my day. Dinner was a Turkey Bubba Burger & snap peas.
