Day 156, Monday, March 23, 2026 - Foscue Creek Campground, Demopolis, AL, Day 2 - 0 Miles, 6,266.3 Miles for the Trip.
62°F overnight, 65°F for my morning walk, 72 °F at noon, & and the high for the day was 75°F.
A very warm night, still in the 70's at 11:00. It finally cooled to 62°F outside but still 71°F in the trailer by 6:00AM.
After my walk I did some on line reading, then sat outside reading on my Kindle. Current book is The Runaway by Nick Petrie. I finished listening to Larry McMurtry's By Sorrows River, and started listening to the last book in the series Folly and Glory.
Around 2:00 the sun heated up the trailer enough that I needed to start the AC. Even though it was only 75°F outside, it was 82°F in the trailer.
Around 3:00 I headed for a shower. 2 stalls, one disabled. The smaller one has a small drying room, larger shower with a standard 2" shower head, dual faucets for hot & cold water, a soap dish and a flat floor between it & the drying area. The drying area floor gets wet even with a shower curtain. One double hook and a bench in the drying area. The weirdest thing is it is the first shower I've been in that was loud. Call it a high pitched hum or a low whistle, it almost hurts your ears. Soft water so you need extra rinse time, but plenty of hot water. Overall, a B+.
After the shower I sat outside and read, put away the grill & hummingbird feeder (no takers) and rolled up the water hose. It won't be all that cold at a predicted 50°F in the morning, but since I have a long way to go, saving some time in the morning is worth it.
Dinner was a Scott & Jon's Shrimp Alfredo Bowl.
Until Next Time -
