2025-26 Trip to the Southwest, Day 167

Day 167, Friday, April 3, 2026 - Stoney Creek Resort Campground, Greenville, VA, Day 2 - 0 Miles, 6,996 Miles for the Trip.

53°F overnight, 61°F for my morning walk, 73°F at noon, and the high for the day was 82°F.

I walked around a couple of loops on my morning walk, and I really don't know where the term "resort" comes from with this campground. It is large with almost 400 sites, but almost all are mixed dirt & grass with a little gravel thrown down. The roads are either gravel or deteriorated asphalt. Not that it is all that different from most of the places I've stayed (although the bathrooms are pretty small with one each sink, toilet & shower, and scattered far between). I guess I'm more bothered by the term Resort when compared to a place like Cherry Hill. Anyhow, it is fine for a couple of nights and they do have a restaurant.

After breakfast I sat outside and read.

Around 2:00 I headed to the Food Lion 15 minutes away. It actually was more than that because my GPS took me past it and into a housing development. I found it on the way back. By the time I got back to the trailer it was 79°F outside & 81°F in the trailer so I shut off the MAXX fan, closed the windows and fired up the AC.

I got a grilled chicken salad at the campground cafe. Excellent! Maybe the resort name refers to the food. So far it has been limited in choice, but very good.

Until Next Time -
