Day 156, Monday, March 24, 2025, Moccasin Creek State Park, Lake Burton, GA - 86.5 Miles, 4,361.1 Miles for the Trip
A warm night with a low of 55°F. Light rain started around 2:00AM and continued off & on until 9:00AM (stopping just in time for my morning walk). Since I didn't have a long drive, I hung around the park until 11:00. When I hit the dump station it was empty, and a "across the way" neighbor in an Airstream from New Jersey pulled into the dump station as I left. Perfect timing!
A mix of roads - My Garmin is back to crashing if I ask it to show me alternate routes so I just took the one it suggested. US441 & I 85, then a bunch of state & county roads. The last 20 miles with lots of twists & turns. I arrived around 1:00 and checked in.
I'm in site 47, a pull through with enough of a side to side slope to need 2" of lift on the Anderson levelers. Water & electric on fine gravel with a picnic table, fire ring & wooden hanging thing. The site is about as far as you can get from the nearest bathroom and still be in the park. I'm here for 6 nights - with a 20% senior discount and daily park pass, $35.39 per night.

After lunch I sat outside and read for a bit. Cooler here with a 3:30 high of 62°F, but the sun is out so it feels warmer.
Dinner was a turkey sandwich & chips.
Until Next Time -
