Day 142, Monday, March 10, 2025, High Falls State Park, Jackson, GA, Day 5 - 0 Miles, 4,201.4 Miles for the Trip
A bit cooler last night, going down to 45°F. Rain off & on all night as well as all day. I did get a short dry spell (well not exactly dry, but a heavy mist) and made a run to the dumpsters with a bag of trash. By the time i got back the rain graduated from a mist to droplets, so I skipped the rest of my morning walk.
Since it is raining, and still cool at 46°F at 1:30, the day was spent inside the trailer. The campground is mostly empty with 8 RVs that I can see from my site. I sat around reading. I went through part of one of my trips (my 2017 trip to pick up my Escape 21) and read on my Kindle - I finished Len Standiford's Bone Key, and started Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng.
The rain makes it feel colder than it is. My indoor thermometer says 71.7°F with the electric heater cycling every 10 minutes or so, but I ended up putting on a sweater.
That was about it for the day. I watched my neighbor take his portable tote holding tank off the ladder on the back of his motorhome and hook it up to the trailer drains. I guess at least one of his tanks was full; can't think of any other reason for doing it in the rain. He was here when I arrived and is leaving on the same day (March 17th). I can manage 2 weeks between dumps, but while large 5th wheels & motorhomes usually have larger tanks, they may not be a conservative when it comes to water management as I am after spending time dry camping in the desert.
Tomorrow is suppose to hit 73°F and sunny; I hope so since today's high was 47°F. Maybe I'll be able to sit outside.
Dinner was a Boston Market Chicken Pot Pie.
Until Next Time -
