2024-25 Trip to the Southeast, Day 144

Day 144, Wednesday, March 12, 2025, High Falls State Park, Jackson, GA, Day 7 - 0 Miles, 4,201.4 Miles for the Trip

Warmer at 40°F this morning, 48°F for my walk. After breakfast I did some on line reading. The Verizon internet was slowing down, so I set up the Starlink Mini. Not much better. While it tested out at much higher speeds, the shading of the antenna from the trees caused it to shut down for 10 - 15 seconds at a time. I went back to Verizon.

Around 11:30 I headed to Dillard's Barber Shop in Forsyth, about a 20 minute drive. No wait for the haircut; $20.00 plus tip. An Ingles grocery store was not too far away, so I stopped there as well. I found individual fresh bagels, something that Walmart & Winn-Dixie don't seem to carry.  Still have not found my Thomas Corn Toasties in quite awhile.

Back at the campground I trimmed my beard then headed for the showers. Still a bit cool from the nighttime temperature, but still a C+.

I spent he rest of the afternoon sitting in the shade reading. The tenters & a couple of RVs left while a couple others moved in. There are still 8 campers visible from my site. Afternoon temperature was 77°F, still 76°F at 4:45.

I had a larger than usual lunch - a pork chop & applesauce so dinner was simple - another salad.

Until Next Time -
