Day 137, Wednesday, March 5, 2025, Three Rivers State Park, Sneads, FL, Day 7 - 0 Miles, 3,955 Miles for the Trip
A front went through with predicted thunderstorms. Rain started around 1:AM, fell off & on until 7:00AM, and a bit of thunder & lightning around 5:00AM. It had stopped and mostly dried up by my morning walk at 9:00AM. Only one empty site in the campground during my walk.
After breakfast I tried to sit outside reading, but the wind was still strong enough to make it uncomfortable. I finished Octavia E. Butler's Clay's Ark, not one of her best books, and started Nancy Kress's Tomorrow's Kin. I'm listening to Kristen Perrin's How to Solve Your Own Murder. I'll probably get through it, but not a favorite.
I didn't get a call from the Niagara Conservation Area's web service, but did get one from the park. Unfortunately, all they could do is insure that I got a confirmation of my reservations. They will let their web service know I'm having a problem, but I haven't heard from them. Sure hope they don't make my reservations disappear!
I'm having a problem with the left rear turn signal lamp in the F 150. I did some checking, and it appears to be the socket. I went to Marianna, about 24 miles away and tried 3 auto parts stores with no luck. Since I was there, I hit both Walmart & Winn Dixie for some stuff. I bought a couple of Innovasian Orange Chicken Bowls since that was the only place I've seen them in a year or more. While I have an insulated bag, the usual happened - on the way back to the campground on US 90, a slow (40 - 45MPH) driver only sped up when we reached an open passing zone. It only added a couple of minutes to the trip, but somehow that always happens when I have frozen food.
Back at the campground I did get a chance to sit outside & read. I also hooked up the trailer since I have a longer than usual drive tomorrow so I want to leave as early as possible. While sitting outside I got a bad photo of a Northern Mockingbird, the most prevalent bird in the park. Very noisy with a wide "vocal" range.

I feel sorry for the guy in the site behind mine. He pulled in, leveled & set up (including inside) then discovered he was in the wrong site. Unfortunately, he couldn't just switch sites with the person coming into the site because they were staying a couple of days longer than him. So, back up & move. Been there, done that, although my little trailer is a lot easier to pack up & move.
Dinner was an Amy's Enchilada Bowl.
Until Next Time -
