Ayres Natural Bridge |
And, we are back in Wyoming. While checking out at a grocery store a couple of days ago we mentioned that we were teachers at a couple of the NY state universities. The women checking out in front of us asked which one, and we discovered she graduated in dance from SUNY Purchase. She suggested heading to Douglas, WY to see the Ayres Natural Bridge, so we did. They have a campground, but we had already made reservations at the Bennett Hill campground at Glendo State park. More photos and the site pictures at today's LakeshoreImages page.
Getting back to Bennett Hill campground at Glendo State Park, I can't rate it high on my list of favorites. Very dusty, sites 1 & 2 are far apart with a vault toilet between us, and while there is electricity & water at our sites, no showers or flush toilets. The lake is quite aways away. Still, it is a place for the night, and campsites are hard to find with the Labor Day weekend coming up. Since it is hot & sunny, we were looking for a site with electricity for the air conditioners, and there were only 2 sites in the entire park; the rest were tent sites.
Dinner was Ravioli, sausage, & Italian bread.
Until Tomorrow.
