The Badlands |
We headed for the badlands loop late morning, and stopped for many photos. I added a bunch to the Badlands National Park page. Lots of photos, and panoramas from two visits at the badlands page.
After that we made a stop at the Minute Man missile exhibit, then drove to one of the abandoned silos.
On the way back to the campground, we actually went inside Wall Drugs. As expected, a tourist trap of many, many small stores selling travel related stuff. Anne bought some fudge & taffy. Photos of us at today's LakeshoreImages page.
Back at the campground I started dinner, which was carbonate of beef, a beef, beer, mushroom & onion meal over egg noodles. Takes awhile to cook, so I waited until we were in a place for two days. Just as I put the pot on the grill to start browning the meat, the wind came up. I do mean came up - it actually blew the pot off the stove, then blew the stove off the table. I moved the works inside the trailer, and with the air conditioning running (it was 95°F out) it was still cool enough to survive. Dinner was pronounced good, which is good because there is enough that it will be tomorrow night's meal as well.
It is getting late so I'm finishing this up and heading for the showers.
Until Tomorrow.
Your experiences remind me of our last camping trip.
