Saturday, February 24, 2018 - City of Rocks State Park, NM, Day 3, 0 Miles, 4,804.4 Towing Miles For the Trip
A bit cooler last night, down to 32°F. Still a toasty 60°F in the trailer, with the furnace running at about 20% of the time. Didn't do much today. I took a short walk around the campground, met a Scamp owner who tows with a 2017 Tacoma Off Road & felt it was under powered. He sure wouldn't be happy towing the 2000 pound heavier 21!
The big event for the day was firing up the water heater to do dishes. When I don't have hookups, I tend to collect dirty dishes for a day or two before making hot water. Seems a waste to heat up a tank every day.
I did quite a bit of reading; just finished John Sandford's Deep Freeze using the Kindle. I'm slowly accepting the Kindle as a "book". Still prefer paper, but I have to admit it is easier to hold the Kindle while lying down in bed than a large paperback or hard cover book.
I had an early dinner microwaving one of my frozen chicken stews. As usual, better with age. This one was particularly good - I should have kept track of what I put in it so I could make it again, but I didn't.
Until tomorrow -
