Dome Rock, Quartzsite, AZ |
Friday, February 2, 2018 - Dome Rock, Quartzsite, AZ, 172.3 Miles,4097.3 Towing Miles For the Trip
I got a fairly early start (for me) leaving the campground at 8:45. I should have stopped at El Centro for gas, but seemed to remember some less expensive stations a bit further down the road. Well, as my low fuel light was flashing, I pulled into the Palo Verde Gas Station & paid $4.30 per gallon. So much for planning!
I stopped at the Blythe Social Security office to pick up my 1099SS form to start my taxes. The usual 2 hour wait for a 2 minute meeting, but since they don't do them on line, I don't have much in the way of choices.
I pulled into Dome Rock at Quartzsite around 4:00 AZ time. There are still about 8 large RVs in the area we usually put the headquarters trailers. I talked with them, and while they are nice people, they are planning on staying through the rally. I set up just West of them. There is still quite a bit of room, but it will have to be to the West of our usual location. I now have to get back into the habit of saving electricity & water. Full hookups were nice, but I won't see them for a couple of weeks.
The Goodyear blimp went by, so, of course, I had to take a photo. Photos at today's LakeshoreImages page.
I wandered around talking with some of the other early arrivals, then headed in to make dinner. Feeling lazy, I just made a couple of cashew butter & jelly sandwiches with chips & cottage cheese.
Until tomorrow -
