The Museum |
Well, it wasn't warm last night - down to 48°F at 6:00AM. Good for the refrigerator. It always takes time to cool back down, particularly the main section, after defrosting, It was at 32°F by morning, so the cool night did it good!
I checked my propane & one tank was empty, so the first stop was at a propane dealer. I probably should have tried the campground; AWC Propane was $17.68 for 4.7 gallons, the most expensive of the trip. overall, So far, I've used 42.3 gallons of propane for the trailer and cook stove.
After picking up the propane, I stopped at the center of town to check out the shops and "museums" dedicated to the "Roswell Incident". No "T" shirt, but I did buy a couple of post cards for the grandkids. The town certainly makes good use of a grounded weather balloon (maybe!) Anyhow, here are some photos, most from the main museum ($3.00 senior admission). They have a good collection of clippings & materials from the original incident, but the rest of the place is speculation about UFOs. The scary part is a number of the visitors appeared to believe it all!
After that I headed for the local Office Max to have them print a PDF of my "Build Sheet", the instructions & options for my new 21' Escape trailer. They moved up the expected delivery date from October 4th to September 20th, and will probably move it up again. Since I've been going over the various options for 6 months, I'm ready to settle on what I want.
Dinner was left over fried chicken & a salad.
Until Tomorrow -
