K & B Tools |
Another late morning. I almost stopped in at La Mesa RV to try their pancake breakfast - they put up their sign for a free breakfast yesterday, but decided to wait until another day. After breakfast, coffee & my usual forum & blog reading, I drove around to take a few photos of some of the highlights for those that have never stopped in Quartzsite, or are wondering what the town is like.
I included photos of a few booths (of which there are thousands in the town), most of which are only open in winter. In fact, there are many that haven't opened yet. K & B Tools is probably one of the ones that has the longest season, and has all kinds of tools
& parts, most of which are Chinese imports. The different booths sell just about anything from tools, kitchenware, clothing, sheets & socks, Arizona concealed carry permits, you name it! I also included the the two grocery stores, Silly Al's pizza, Quiet Times where I can have mail & packages delivered, and a view of the other end of the town where the Pilot & Loves gas stations, McDonalds & Burger King reside. Photos at today's LakeshoreImages page.
I stopped in the General Store for a pork chop for dinner, then headed back to the campsite to do some reading.
For some reason, I decided to check the oil in the Tacoma. Now I have to admit I have become very lax on checking oil in my vehicles, since the last 4 never burned any between changes. Still, since there are now 10,000 miles between changes in the Tacoma, I checked. While the oil level was fine, the oil filler cap wasn't. Evidently, the good folks at Toyota of Del Rio forgot to put the cap back on after doing an oil change. It is a bit too far to drive back to Del Rio, Texas to complain, so I called the nearest Toyota dealer & Alexander Toyota in Lake Havasu City ordered one for me. I'll wait for them to call to be sure it came in before driving 85 miles to pick it up. I hope it is a nice day for a drive!
After that I sat outside in the sun & read for the rest of the afternoon. Dinner was a grilled pork chop, mashed potatoes, and steamed snap peas.
Until Tomorrow -
