Redwoods River Resort, Leggett, CA

A Redwood Tree
Tuesday, April 8, 2014, Redwoods River Resort, Leggett, CA, - 131.8 miles , 7072.5 For the Trip

Well, I have to think that the "Reserved" signs at yesterday's campground were there just to keep people from using that side of the place. No one showed up; just two of us (other than the host) in the campground.

I headed north on CA 20, then US 101 and stopped for the night a little north of Leggett at the Redwoods River Resort. At least 1/3 of the name fits - lots of redwoods scattered throughout the campground. As to river, the Eel River is along side the campground, but at the end of a 360 yard, very steep dirt path. An as to resort, not quite. Still, for California, not too expensive at $31.50 for full hookups. I did have to fix the shower, but it and the restroom were pretty clean. It looks like the camping season hasn't really quite started, although there are about 6-7 families in the campground.

I took a couple of photos of the river and surrounding area, including one of the path to it. Note the tree across the path, however they do have benches for taking a break on the way back up the hill. Excuse the distortion in the campsite photo - I wanted to get the redwoods in the picture without too much of the bathrooms that are next to my site. Photos at today's LakeshoreImages page.

Dinner was a frozen (well, not after I took it out of the toaster oven) Amy's Cheese Enchilada Meal. The first time I've had that brand - pretty good.

Until tomorrow -

  1. Hi, Jon! I scanned down and read previous posts. I have been participating in the annual A to Z bloghop AND Google has messed with the list of posts I follow. So, there you go. Bakersfield is as I remember. The big tree areas are my favorite.
