Day 74, Wednesday, December 31, 2025 - La Paz County Park, Parker, AZ, Day 32 - 0 Miles, 3,449.7 Miles for the Trip
56°F overnight, and not any warmer for my morning walk. Heavy clouds but no rain. It never warmed up all that much - still only 59°F at 2:30.
I sat in the trailer and played with planning next winter's trip. I'm almost set on trying the southeast again. I prefer the desert, but it adds almost 4000 miles round trip to the drive. With the lousy weather I had last time I probably should just make the long trip, but I'm willing to try again, this time with longer stays and less bouncing around the area.
I didn't make any reservations yet although some of the campgrounds are taking reservations for my expected dates. The problem is some of the earlier campgrounds won't take reservations until as few as 9 months before your date. I may just do the later ones & hope I can get the dates I want when the reservations open up. If I can't get into a state park I can always go with a commercial one in the area. The ones I checked that were available were completely empty, so I may wait a week or so.
While it still isn't raining, it sure looks like it wants to. The park is filling up. Many of the sites that have been empty for all of December have folks moving in. I don't know how many are leaving on the first, but I doubt it is all that many. January & February are popular months to be here.
Around 4:00 a light rain started.
Dinner was a Tyson Foods Asparagus, Chicken & Cheese, mashed potatoes & creamed spinach.
Until Next Time -
