2025-26 Trip to the Southwest, Day 67

Day 67, Wednesday, December 24, 2025 - La Paz County Park, Parker, AZ, Day 25 - 0 Miles, 3,449.7 Miles for the Trip

A warm night, only going down to 61°F and 65°F for my morning walk. While it wasn't raining when I started, when I was half way (as far from the trailer as I go in that direction) it started to rain. Big drops, but not all that many. I was a little wet by the time I got back.

After breakfast I did a little reading with my coffee, then started two blueberry pies. I discovered I didn't have enough sugar for two pies, so I had to make a quick run to Safeway.

Now at 2:30 the second pie is out of the oven. There were quite a few bad blueberries in the 18 oz packages. They came all the way from Peru, so I guess that is to be expected. Lots of sorting, but there were still enough between 4 18 oz packages to make both pies, so the "emergency" 6 oz container will work for nibbling or on breakfast cereal.

Blueberry Pies

Since I haven't posted a photo recently, here is one of the pies:

I fired up the water heater and did quite a bit of clean up. Making blueberry pies requires some extra time washing dishes. I also use many paper towels to pre wipe before washing. Many pies ago I didn't and just washed everything. The result was the worst gray tank smell ever; worse than the black tank. It took 3 fillings & emptying of the gray tank before I wasn't stinking up everyone around me.

The rest of the afternoon was spent sitting in the trailer reading. Rain has been off & on all day although never very heavy. 67°F at 3:15.

Since I was in the "pie mode" dinner was a Boston Market Chicken Pot Pie.

Until Next Time -
