2024-25 Trip to the Southeast, Day 170

Day 170, Monday, April 7, 2025, Cherry Hill Park, College Park, MD - 238.3 Miles, 4,970.3 Miles for the Trip

Rain off & on throughout the night. The tenter next door was ready for it - he put an easy up over his tent. It didn't get all that cold, in fact it was still 65°F at 8:00AM.

I stopped to dump even though it was raining because I didn't remember if the site at Cherry Hill was full hookup, plus it might be raining harder there. As I started to dump a guy pulled up behind me. He got out an umbrella and held it over me while I dumped. I thanked him & pulled up far enough so he could dump and started back to hold the umbrella for him, but his wife got out and did it.

The entire drive to College Park was in rain, light to heavy with light rain as I hit the campground. The temperature dropped on the way as well; 46°F at 4:30 when I finished setting up in my site. I'm in site 830, a back in full hook up site on fine gravel with a fire ring & picnic table. The site is not quite big enough for both the truck & trailer even with me putting the trailer wheels at the edge of the gravel. I have most of the truck off the road. 3 nights at $103.00 per night. Not the least expensive campground I've stayed in, in fact, the most expensive , but it is the Washington DC area.

Site 830

I called Karin & since I'm beat from driving in the rain and she has daughter pick ups, we decided to skip getting together tonight and will meet tomorrow.

Since it is in the 40's out I fired up the propane oven and will make a Barber Chicken, Cheese & Broccoli meal in the oven along with a baked potato & mixed vegetables.

Until Next Time -
