Mountain Quail Cafe |
A little cooler than yesterday, but still a nice day. After coffee & breakfast, I read blogs & journals, then drove out to Dome Rock to see how many fiberglass trailers had already arrived. The area we usually set up in is still filled with large "Sun Blockers", but there are some fiberglass trailers on the hill and in an area further east. Most of them are Olivers. They sure are becoming popular - I didn't see any at the first Quartzsite rally I attended 3 years ago, there are at least 10 of them here already. Not sure all are staying, but they are at Dome Rock now.
On the way back it was 2:45, and I thought it might be a good time to try the Mountain Quail Cafe for Friday fish. I have to say that both previous times I ate there the food was fast & good, but this time slow & just OK. I ordered at 2:55, and my food was delivered at 4:10. It was busy, but not packed - there were empty tables all the time I waited. The fish was plentiful, but a bit greasy, the sweet tea watery, the coleslaw dry & tasteless, and the tater tots OK. Although their chicken fried chicken dinner was great, all in all, next time I want fish, I'll go Sweet Darlene's!
On the way back to the trailer I stopped and picked up my last bag of kettle corn.
Dinner was my late, late lunch!
Until Tomorrow -
