"Is this a Medicinal Plant?" led by Ranger Gregory |
Lots of photos today, although many are duplicates of previous days. Last night I tried for a couple more star photos. There is still too much spill light from Apache Junction for a good dark sky, but there were fewer clouds so they came out a little better, although I do like the version with clouds as well. There was enough spill that I barely had use a flashlight to provide fill light for the trailer at night photo.
I started today day with a 3 hour hike - "Is this a Medicinal Plant?" led by Ranger Gregory. Learned a lot about the plants of the Sonoran Desert as well as information about the area.
After the hike I found a note in my trailer door from Dave & Paula from the Fiberglass Trailer Forum. They live a few miles from the park. They invited me for lunch - great homemade turkey soup . We talked about trailers, places, & people, got a tour of their Scamp, and an invite for a jeep trip tomorrow. I got back to the trailer around 4:00 & found an interesting insect hanging out. I believe it is a "Walking Stick", at least it fits the description. I also took a couple of photographs of a hummingbird at the feeder & the sunset. More photos at today's LakeshoreImages page.
Dinner will be just cheese & crackers since I had a good sized lunch at Dave & Paula's.
Until Next Time -
I'm glad that you're enjoying Lost Dutchman SP. I'm not a big fan of campgrounds, but because of the location it's one of the best and just a few miles from my home. Too bad the weather isn't cooperating with you on the night shots. This weather is kind of unusual for us. The overcast skies typically last a day or two then clears up.
