Friday, November 9, 2018 - Big Bend National Park, TX, Day 6 - 0 Miles, 6,034.6 Miles for the Trip
Well, what ever warmth was here at Big Bend, it's gone. Not only is it only 56°F at 2:30 PM, it has been very windy. The weather posting said to expect 30MPH winds; they are at least that. A few tents blown down, and everyone huddled (including me) inside their RVs or vehicles. I feel sorry for those in motorcycles. While most have tents, they are small; it can't be much fun.
I spent most of the day reading. After my 3:00 eye drops, I'll head over to post this page & maybe do a load of laundry & a shower. It depends on how many others have the same idea - there are only 2 or 3 machines covering both campgrounds. While the dry section is pretty empty, the full hookup section is near full.
Well, I'm here and all the machines are empty, so the laundry is underway. I'll do my usual shower while the clothes are in the dryer.
I haven't decided on dinner, but it will be something that can be cooked inside, but not in the microwave. I'm still down by 20 amp hours this afternoon, and with the heavy clouds, only making around 2 amps from the solar panels. While I haven't fired up the furnace, I do expect it will be running later. The wind makes it feel even cooler than it is, both inside & out.
Yesterday mosquitoes, today plunging temperatures.
