My Next Door Neighbor |
I woke up this morning to a call from my son, no heat or hot water. He used my list of repair people, and at first the boiler repair crew talked about needing to replace it. Luckily, a bit later they just replaced some parts & everything is working, so he has heat & hot water. Something I don't have to worry about here in central California. It was in the mid 80's today, and only down to the mid 60's overnight.
It is good that the trailer is warm - while the site is OK, in fact, a decent distance from the neighbors, and with a great view, the bathrooms are a different story. There is a building every couple hundred yards, but only the central one has showers. All are dark & damp, with stainless toilets (no seats) and in the one across from my site, 2 push button showers that even I wouldn't use. With full hookups, showering in the trailer is easy (well, other than having to wipe down the entire bathroom afterwards).
I spent the day reading, sitting out in the sun, and taking a couple of walks around the campground loop.
A reminder to those that follow my daily postings - while at Red Rock Canyon State Park, my next stop, I will have no internet (or phone) so I will be "off the air" for a bit.
Dinner was a Morningstar Veggie burger & the rest of the Bush beans.
After dinner I sat out watching the sunset (not all that exciting), reading on my Kindle. I heard an owl hooting, and found it sitting at the top of a dead pine tree next door. The image quality isn't all that hot since it was pretty dark, the camera barely focused, and was hand held, but here is the best - I believe it is a Great Horned Owl.
Until the Next Internet Connection -
