Monday, December 14, 2015, La Posa West LTVA, Quartzsite, AZ, Day 26, 0 Miles, 4,046.3 Miles for the Trip
I watched the Geminid meteor shower for awhile last night and saw a couple. Later, the clouds moved in, and after midnight, it started to rain. It rained off & on throughout the rest of the night. I'm glad I didn't wait until today to drive back to Quartzsite. The Phoenix radio station mentioned I 17 & I 40 were both snow & ice covered at the higher altitudes, part of which would have included my drive back.
It didn't warm up much today - the high was 58°F. According to the weather reports, it is going to be cool during the next couple of days, and below freezing during the overnights. This seems to be one of those years that the northeast is doing better than here in the southwest. It hit 63°F today in my home town of Oswego, NY, and is currently warmer there than here at Quartzsite. Oh well, I'm sure that will change soon.
I drove into town to buy some books at one of the used book booths, and next door saw some meteorites at a nearby table. So, I bought one. A nice, heavy iron rock for $20.00. No idea if it is a deal or not, but I've always wanted one & I already have a place picked out for it back home.
It was too cool to sit outside, so I stayed in the trailer. I did some reading, caught up on web pages & forums, then cooked a couple of Cheese Brats & baked beans for dinner.
Until Tomorrow -
