Wednesday, May 13, 2026 - Chocorua Camping Village KOA, Chocorua, NH - 201.8 Miles for the day, 406.2 Miles for the trip
Very light rain (you could hear it dripping off the trees, but nod directly on the roof) all morning. Of course it let up after we packed up the trailers, at least for awhile. On the drive to Chocorua there was light rain most of the trip. At some of the higher points we were in the clouds making driving interesting. We had one interesting detour. Tried following the signs and ended up at a closed bridge (not the one that the detour was suppose to get around). If Anne wasn't there I'm not sure I could have turned around without wreaking the lawn of a house near the blockage. Added a good half hour to the trip.
The rain was nice enough to stop as we arrived, and held off until after I got the trailer set up. Around 4:30 a light rain started up. I'm in site 50 (the Guidos in 48 next door), a full hookup site on gravel & dire with a deck, patio table, gas grill & a couple of anti gravity lounge chairs. Normal price would be $95.00 per night; we are paying the rally price of $75.00. Still not cheap, but it is a KOA...
A good AT&T data signal - 89.19Mbps down and 20.24Mbps up. I didn't bother firing up Verizon. Far too many trees for Starlink.
The Guidos even got their Clam set up before dinner, although I don't see then sitting in it - it was 43°F at 5:00PM. The prediction is for rain for the next two days.
Since Anne didn't have anything unfrozen and all my food was grill outside (I don't enjoy grilling in the rain) dinner was pizza at Mumma Christy's Pizza & Subs about 3 miles from the campground. Great pizza made to order. Mostly a take out place, but they have a couple of tables so we ate in.
Until Next Time -
